A family room addition that was designed and built by Galaxie Home Remodeling was chosen as the First Place Winner in the September issue of Make It Better Magazine’s “Best Dressed Home” contest. The distinguished panel of contest judges consisted of residential architects and interior designers. The winning room was one of several rooms in this Lincolnshire home that was extensively remodeled by Galaxie. Features of the family room include a wood burning fireplace, wet bar, exposed brick walls, custom cherry wood cabinetry, a cathedral ceiling with skylights and an amazing wall of windows that provides spectacular views of the spacious backyard and mature trees. The homeowner and her mother handled the furniture selection and paint color choices. Warm earth tones and soft fabrics make this family room addition cozy, comfortable and perfect for entertaining. Galaxie president Bruce Pinsler is honored by the award. “This project demonstrates the wide range of Galaxie’s capabilities. Although we design and remodel homes to fit any budget, winning this contest proves that we can easily compete with architects and interior designers on the high-end projects,” he said.
